The Washington Home Sponsors 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s on the National Mall
09.27.24
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.
As a participating team and event sponsor, The Washington Home is honored to support the success of the event and help strengthen the local community.
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing public health crisis in Washington, D.C. and the impact of Alzheimer’s is projected to rise. It is estimated that in our area, nearly 15,000 people aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s, and 8.8% of people aged 45 and older have subjective cognitive decline.
Through its partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, The Washington Home is dedicated to creating a world without Alzheimer’s and increasing resources for our local community.
We are excited to walk this weekend with our community as our team will be supporting efforts to serve 2,000 older adults and caregivers in Washington, D.C., in partnership with 18 local nonprofits.
